Caustic Soda Description: Caustic soda is a co-product of the chlorine manufacturing process. Caustic soda further diversifies our revenue base as it has many industrial applications. Georgia Gulf sells all of our caustic soda domestically and overseas to customers in numerous industries, with the pulp and paper and chemical industries constituting our largest markets. Other uses for caustic soda include the making of soaps and detergents, finishing operations in the textile industry, petroleum drilling and refining, and cleansing and peeling operations in the food industry.
